How IGScope Works
A transparent look into our edge parsing architecture, distributed caching layers, and privacy-preserving design.
1. Public Edge Gateway Model
When a user submits a public handle or profile link to IGScope, our edge server initiates an isolated, unauthenticated query against publicly available Instagram endpoints.
Unlike traditional social browsing which requires user session tokens, cookies, and device fingerprints, IGScope operates entirely as a **stateless public proxy**. We extract only publicly exposed JSON metadata and render it into a clean, distraction-free dashboard.
2. Zero-Credential Privacy Philosophy
Our system is built on a fundamental security principle: We never request, store, or handle user credentials.
- No Instagram Login: You do not log into your personal Instagram account, preventing any accidental session leakage or tracking.
- No Account Registration: We require no emails, phone numbers, or passwords to access public tools.
- No Cross-Site Tracking: We do not sell user query data or build behavioral user profiles.
3. Intelligent Caching & Rate Protection
To provide instantaneous page loads and minimize redundant network strain on upstream servers, IGScope incorporates a multi-tiered caching pipeline:
In-Memory / Redis Edge Cache
Frequent profile queries are cached for short durations (typically 5–15 minutes). Repeated lookups are served in under 15 milliseconds.
Negative Caching Safeguards
Non-existent or private profiles are negatively cached to prevent abuse and protect upstream server health.
4. Strict Public Account Boundaries
IGScope adheres strictly to platform security architectures and privacy settings:
- Private Profiles Remain Private: If an account is set to private, our system only displays the public handle and status indicator. No private posts, reels, or stories can be fetched.
- No CAPTCHA Bypassing or Exploitation: We do not circumvent cryptographic defenses or unauthorized platform mechanisms.
- Responsible Content Handling: We encourage all visitors to respect copyright and creator attribution when reviewing public media.
